At ARTISTIC
ADDRESSING we can pretty much address any type of envelope, but of
course there are a few exceptions when dealing with certain
scenarios. We hope to clarify what we can and cannot do
within this section, but if we didn't quite nail your particular
situation, please contact us and we will do our best to answer
your question. In most any questionable circumstance where we are
unsure of your envelopes "printability", we will ask for
a sample so that we can test it.
Topics: Most envelope thickness is due to a liner AND WE CAN print on envelopes that have lightweight liners. If you have your heart set on a particular envelope liner that is very thick (cardstock or fabric, etc), we suggest asking your stationer if you can get the liners separate, where you can insert and glue them in yourself, or we can do it for you at a minimal charge after the addressing is completed... OR you may want to ask them if they can use a lighter text weight paper (60 lb. or less). ONCE YOUR ENVELOPES ARRIVE, AND WE DETERMINE THAT YOUR ATTACHED LINERS ARE TOO THICK FOR US TO WORK WITH, WE WILL TEST ONE TO SEE IF WE CAN REMOVE THE LINER PRIOR TO PRINTING. IF SO, WE WILL NOTIFY YOU OF THIS FACT. YOU MAY THEN DECIDE TO HAVE US REMOVE THEM AND THEN RE-APPLY THEM AFTER PRINTING. THERE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF 25¢ PER ENVELOPE FOR US TO DO THIS. Some envelope liners cannot be removed without damaging the envelopes, in this case the un-addressed envelopes will be returned to you. This will require a return shipping charge. ENVELOPE PAPER: (metallic, glossy and translucent)* Metallic, glossy coated or translucent envelopes can be addressed, but be advised that because of the nature of these papers, the ink sits on top of the surface and does not get absorbed into the fibers. Due to this, the ink is highly susceptible to smudging if coming into contact with moisture. We will address these for you if you like, but are not responsible for their subsequent smudging, if it should occur. To test your envelope for an acceptable amount of smudging, we suggest that you print something on them with your ink jet printer. Allow for several minutes of drying time (approximately 5-10 minutes). The ink should not smudge if rubbed with a dry finger. In almost all cases, the ink will smudge when applying a slight bit of moisture to your finger. Let this be your guide if you decide to proceed with having us address these types of envelopes. We have attempted to print on these envelopes using a laser printer (toner applied with heat), but the results are less than desirable since they seem to curl the envelopes and affect the envelope flap adhesive. Due to the extended dry time required for these papers, there is a small additional charge that would apply. See our pricing page. Envelopes cannot exceed 8½" x 11". If we are printing your return address, or if your envelopes have liners, this would include the size of your envelope with the flap opened. At the present time we are unable to print in white and metallic inks. Find your envelope style from the selection below: |

These Envelopes have a single center seam in the back and can have any type of flap. These envelopes usually are open ended (Flap is along the short side). We can print on these either on the horizontal (flap to the side) or vertical (flap at the top), however, be mindful that most times if printed on the vertical, additional postage may apply.
